 Includes NotesNotes for Albert Nipp:
The following poem was written by Albert, then called "Bert" in the year 1931

The weather cool and chilly
The ground was white with snow.
The stork came flying through the air
He had nowhere to go.

He scaled the hills and valley
Which he had often done before
Left a tiney-winey package
At my dear old father's door.

Sure my father did take me in
And gave me board and bed
And a kind and loving mother
often times would pat my head.

Those songs she often sang to me
Were dearer far than gold
I loved to hear those tunes again
Although I'm growing old

My schoolhood days were happy days
Each day I treasure still
I love my teachers to this day
Now and always will.

And those little girls who went to school
Their smiles I can't forget
They are grandmas now with married kids
But somehow I love them yet.

Old age has now has clasped hold my head
And is leading me through life
Without some smiling child to bless
Or kind and loving wife.

And as each birthday roles around
And I one year older grow
And my teeth keep a-fallin out
And my hair grows white as snow

There is a gentle thought grows in my mind
My lonesome thoughts to cheer
That if I live through February
That I'll live through the year.
