Luther received a Notice of Allowance for a Homestead Application on March 9, 1922 in Dillen, Ark., Serial No. 017456, Receipt No. 2601559, for W1/2 NW1/4, NE1/4 NW1/4, NW1/4 NE1/4, Section 2, Township 10 N., Range 22 W., 5th P. Meridian, Containing 146.73 acres. Him and Estel built a home in Hagarville together, but before they could move into it Estel and Lily both passed away. Louella and Luther were married by J. M. Graves, Justice of the Peace. It is recorded on page 433 of book X of Marriage Records. Luther is buried next to his Wife Ella at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Mo. |

Notes for VIOLA CAROLYN WHEELER: Viola C. Thronebury, 94, of Lenexa, Kan., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Overland Park, Kan. She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late William H. and Margaret Self Wheeler, widow of Silas Thronebury, and member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and James Tumbleson of Lenexa, Kan., and Barbara and Cletus Yarbrough of Winston, Ore.; one son and two daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Delta Thronebury of Grandview, Mo., and Daisy Thronebury of Arcadia, Fla.; three brothers, George Wheeler of Jasper, Gene Wheeler of Western Grove, and Grady Wheeler of Merriam, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with burial in the Minnow Creek Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. |
