"John Lemons Appears wit h the rank of Lt. on a Pay Roll of a company of infantry commanded by George North, of the Wa shington County Regiment of Militia, Territory South of the Ohio, for Aug. 31 to Dec 3, 1793 . Roll dated Knoxville Aug 11, 1795. Commencement of service or of this settlement, Aug 31, 1 79_. Expiration of service or of this settlement, Dec. 3, 1793. Term of service charged, 3 mo nths, 4 days. Pay per month, 26 dollars. Amount of pay, 81 dollars, 47 cents."
