He married Rosina Broyles1 June 22, 1798 in TN, daughter of Nicholas Broyles and Dorothy Cristler. She was born October 23, 1770 in Culpepper Co, VA, and died Aft. 1829 in Washington Co, TN.

Adam Gann makes oath that Charlotte Cardwell is a material witness for the defendants that sh e is now in such a state of health that she cannot attend at this time that he has been sic k himself and unable to procure subpoenas for witnesses but he could have procured Mrs. Cardw ells attendance without a
subpoena if she had been able to attend. He cannot prove the same facts by any other person w hom he can procure to attend at this court. Said witness is not absent with his consent or de fault. He prays a continuance for delay but that justice may be done. Sworn to in open Cour t 25th Octr 1826 Adam Gann

!Adam (without wife) signed a deed for sale of land in 1832 in McMinn Co, TN. This deed wa s not acknowledged in court until 1836 by the two men who witnessed the sale.

!Rosina was named in the Will of Nicholas Broyles who died about 8 Sep 1814 on his farm nea r Jonesborough, TN. Her birth was recorded along with her sisters and brothers in the Hebro n Birth Register, except for one brother, Reuben, who was later proven by tradition and b y a deed of 19 Sep 1797. Nicholas sold to the heirs of Reuben, for love and affection, 120 a cres joining Cyrus Broyles, James Grimes, John McAllister and Solomon Yeager, along said Yeag er's line to Abraham Broyle's line, with the reservation that the heirs of Reuben Broyles all ow Nicholas Broyles and wife, Dorothy, the use of the part on the north side of Onion Branch . His wife was Dorothy Cristler born about 1734 in Culpepper, VA.

!In a deposition in the lawsuit "Adam Gann vs Vaught" William McGee, a witness for the Plaint iff, said that he was one of the sons-in-law of Dorothy Broyles, along with Adam Gann, and th at John McGee and Adam Broyles, who married the widow of Reuben Broyles, who had been a son-i n-law also. McGee said that in the year 1820 he sold a wagon to the defendant for 300 bushel s of corn and Gann have him an order on Vaught, the Defendant for the same. The Defendant to ld him, Chester when he produced the said order that he did not know what quantity of corn th e rent would amount to but he would pay what would be coming to Chester to take some oats, wh ich Defendant said was part of the rent of the place in oats. Chester did take 3 loads of oa ts. At fall the Defendant told Chester he could not have the rest because that Dorothy Broyl es had gone to Adam Broyles to live, and he must take the corn over there so Chester did no t get the corn. Dorothy had left the abode of Adam Gann between harvest time and fall. Broy les lived on the rented place. Chester also states that the Defendant also told him that Bro yles had indemnified for delivery of corn at said Broyles.

train blacksmith for a wagon train and were said to be the first train to go
through the mountains after the Donner party disaster. John in 1850 Missouri
census. Perhaps returned to Missouri and took family to California October

  90 v.   Joshua Isaac Gann1, born 1795 in Washington Co, TN; died Aft. July 15, 1861. He married Elizabeth Unknown in TN.
  Notes for Joshua Isaac Gann:
!Joshua Gann lived in Washington Co., TN when he enlisted in the War
of 1812. He was a private "in the company commanded by Captain Andrew Lawson
in the Tennessee Militia commanded by Cols. Anderson and Johnson in the war
with Great Britain declared by the United States on 18th day of June 1812,
that he was drafted at Washington County, Tennessee on or about the twentyeth
day of September A.D. 1814 for the term of six months and continued in actual
service in said war for the term of seven months and thirteen days and was
honorably discharged at Knocksville in State of Tennessee on third day of May
A.D. 1815 as will appear by the muster Rolls of said Company that he received
a written certificate of discharge which was surrendered up to the paymaster
when he was paid off by government for his services." Expiration of service
at Knoxville, Tennessee (100 miles from rendezvous), pay per month $8, amount
of pay $61.33, 6 days added for traveling allowance.
He then lived in Jackson and Cocke Counties, TN. There is an Isaac Gann with no wife lis ted on the 1830 Cocke Co, TN census. If this is Joshua Isaac then the mother of his childre n had died. He moved to Lafayette Co about 1835, later moving to Livingston Co, Mo. On the M O 1850 census, he is shown with a wife by the name of Rebecca.
He died after 15 July 1861 when he (without wife) signed a deed
transferring his real estate to his daughter, Adeline Gann Frazier. He and wife are buried i n the Gibbons Cemetery along with three of his children and their families.
Listed on 1840 Census Livingston Co, MO with 2 males under 10 (b 1830-1840), 1 male 10-2 0 (b 1820-30)(William b 1831), 1 male 20-30 (b 1810-1820 (Abraham b 1826, 1 male 50-60 (1790- 1800) (Joshua b 1795); 2 females 10-20 (b 1820-1830) (Susanna b abt 1829, Adeline abt 1831) ; 1 female 20-30 (b 1810-1820) (Mary Jane born 1825), 1 female 50-60 (b. 1850 Census Livingst on Co, MO: Joshua 55, Rebecca 52, Abraham 23, TN; William 19, TN; Adaline 19, TN.
There is a marriage record of a Joshua Gann 1 Sept. 1813 to Jenna Gann in Rhea County, T ennessee. Rebecca, listed as his spouse on the census, was
born about 1798 (per the census), and she apparently was deceased by 1860 as she is not liste d on the 1860 census.
