We have no information on Toussaint before 1 May 1811. Toussaint has no paper trail before 1811 as to who his parents might be. He was married in a civil marriage before he married Margaret Michel, at Saint Ferdinand Church in Florissant Mo. So he was either married before or he and Margaret where married in a civil marriage then remarried again in a catholic church, as that was their Religions that you had to be married in a church. If we could find where and when he married in this civil marriage it may help us, to who his parents are on this document. This may be our only hope as to who his parents are and where he came from. There is also speculation that Seraphim his dit name may be his real first name, instead of Toussaint. Toussaint was listed in a book (The Annuals of Saint Louis in itŐs Territory days) that was one of the ways we found he had a Bakery in Saint Louis Missouri. ToussaintŐs first wife Margaret was the first Benoit buried in Saint FerdinandŐs Cemetery. This was told to us by a researcher who was hired by my cousin Robert Benoist, to help him do some research on our family. (Toussaint Seraphin, AKA, According to the Baptismal Records from the Old Cathedral in St., Louis, his name was Toussaint Seraphin, children were Benoit and his, first wife was Margaret Taillon. In the records from St. Ferdinand's, his name was Benoist.
