There were some seven or eight candidates for town marshall and the council went into a private
caucus to consider their claims. Mr Owen Daugherty was chosen, the contest narrowing down between
him and Felix Wise. (which Felix Wise?) Several others received one vote. Mr Sam Thomas was elected assessor and
Judge J. D. Irwin was re-elected city attorney.
