Stuart: Excerpt from the Will of Alexander Stuart: This indenture made the 2nd day of February 1869 by and between Alexander Stuart and America his wife formerly O'Bryan, John W. Stuart, Frances Mattingly, formerly Stuart, Elizabeth Heady formerly Mattingly and B.T. Heady her husband, John T. Mattingly, Barbary Mattingly and Lucretia Mattingly. The four last named being children of Alex Mattingly dec'd._______ of William Stuart child and heir of John Stuart, dec'd by James H. Sims Commissioner of the first part and Ann Maria Stuart and John Alexander Stuart infant children of James Stuart of the second part,__________That where as George Simmons, Squire Murphy and James H. Sims did in pursuance of an order of the Nelson County Court made at the March Term of ___Court 1868 proceed to divide the lands of John Stuart, dec'd. among the heirs herein named and having so divided said lands and made their report which report was at the June Term of ___Court 1868 confirmed and ordered to record and James H.
