Information from son Rolland Gillham I have her death certificate she lists mothers name as Alpha Jane Faller info given by John Gilliand. She died of Influenza followed by bronchi pneumonia. Book of Herpel Cemetery lists her name as Annie Mae ( this is not her correct name) and her birthday as 6-6-1878 death as 2-12-1923 She is also listed as Annie Mae in 1920 Stone Co. Census. She probably went by the name

He married ARRENIA (RENA) ELIZABETH HOLT October 21, 1903 in Mountain View, Stone Co., Ar, daughter of WILLIAM HOLT and NANCY WALLACE. She was born October 18, 1885 in Big Flat, Stone , Ar, and died September 30, 1978 in Calico Rock, Izard, Ar, MEDICAL CENTER.

OHN PRESLEY HILL:
He hung his his self from a tree below the Cotter Bridge after receiving word that his son Roy was missing in Action or had Typhus, Delorn ( Franks Son) had drown and the body never found and his Mother at it was told 106 (not this old) disappeared and was not ever found. His funeral service was held April 26. Rev. Wm Hickman preached, prayer by Bro. Sewell. Choir accompanied by Mrs. S. E. Mesimer. Songs were ASLEEP IN JESUS and FARTHER ALONG. Pall bearers were: Arthur Reeves, Elbert Moody, Coleman Long, Earl Parks, J. B. Treat, & H. H. Goodman. He signed his middle name as Henry when he was older but it was (P) on his marriage license and the census. I have his death certificate stated he was born in Bald Knob. 1920 Census Izard Co. Ark. Vol 25 ED 56 Sheet 12, Line 29 age listed as 40.
His birthplace on the census as Kentucky. He Would look for muscles in the White River, He found the largest Pearl ever found. I think they were living at Mt. Olive at the time The Pearl was the size of a dime. Dr. Lane bought it from him for $500.00. The last time the family knew of it, it sold for $1700.00. This was when Hubert was a baby. Hubert said he was 1/2 German and 1/2 Irish. Altho the rest of the family say his Mother was full blood Dutch. One of his sayings was "Chew the Rag, Rene- Chew the Rag".
They went to Oklahoma (Muskogee according to family members ) for 1 year. Marie said they bought a cafe but didn't like it and sold it and came back to Ark. I have found no documentation of this. Luke said that her Dad ( John) worked the White Lime Plant just below Sylamore when she was a girl.
1920 Baxter Co. Census he stated his name was John Henry but in the World War I Registar he lists John Presley Hill. 1930 rented for $6.00 @ month. Homer Queen family lived 2 doors down. Jess is listed as Jessie A., Frank as Frankie, A. Jane was living with them listed as 80 a widow married at age 27, born in Tn both parents born in Tn

RRENIA (RENA) ELIZABETH HOLT:
Big Flat is over by Marshall, Ar. She was 93 when she died. She had been in the Calico Rock Care home. When they took her to the hospital they dropped her and had a broken collar bone even Though they said she had pneumonia. Married in a log house in Stone county Harris Bottom. Arrenia was the name her father had on the 1900 census. Marriage was recorded in Stone County book Page 344. I have her death certificate.
Stone Co. Leader Oct 12, 1978 has her obit. Funeral Services by Howard Funeral Home at Calico Rock. Buried at Cotter by John. She was a member of the Church of Christ
