Notes for Dorothy ELAINE Griffiths: Elaine was 15 when she moved with the family from Coonooer Bridge to Geelong - 1951
Completed Domestic Arts course at Gordon Institute in Geelong and became a secondary school teacher at a number of Geelong secondary schools. Her fine embroidery, cake decorating and flower arranging saw her win several prizes at the Melbourne Show and other local exhibitions. Her needlecraft skills have been on show in the numerous wedding gowns and bridal party frocks that she has made over the years.

She and husband John bought a house in Bell Post Hill and later in St Cloud Court, Highton.
Elaine and John were active bowlers in retirement until John's death of lung cancer in 2003.
In Jan 2008, Elaine married Kevin Hercus of Geelong who had also been a teacher, deputy principal and store Keeper at Moriac ? Elaine sold her house at Highton, overlooking the Queens Park parklands and golf course and together they moved to a new beginning at Port Macquarie, NSW..
