Ronald Jerome Peery was born Jan. 2, 1956, in Hackensack, New Jersey, the second son of FBI Agent Lloyd DeVere Peery and his wife Dorothy Marie Etherson Peery.
Ron and his family moved several times during his childhood due to Lloyd's job as an FBI Agent, and finally settled in the Okla. City, Okla., area.
On graduating high school, Ron entered Okla. Christian College in Edmond, Okla., and later transfered to then Central State University, but now known as The University of Central Okla.
Ron graduated with a degree in History/Military Science, and was granted a commission as a 2Lt, in the regular United States Army.
During his college years Ron was employed for two years with the Edmond, Okla., Police Dept., and following that, two more years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
His army career caused numerous moves again, and he finally settled in Manhattan, Ks.
During his last duty station at Fort Riley, Ks., Ron was sent overseas in 1990 to the Gulf war and served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
After Desert Storm, Ron took an early retirement from the army during the much publicized "Reduction in Forces" policy of the Clinton administration.
During his short lived "Retirement" Ron became employed at a local Manhattan Kansas construction company and has remained there since.
As a result of a desire to return to army life, Ron sought and received a commission as a Captain in the Kansas National Guard and has recently been promoted to the rank of Major.
Ron has one son, Patrick John Lloyd Peery, living in Utah and he himself continues to reside in Manhattan, Kansas.
