NOTE: While visiting Grandma Nora and Grandpa Ray Penry in Seattle one Thanksgiving in the early 1970s, Grandpa, who was youngest but one of 21 children told me the following: When he got his first job he saved all his money to buy reading glasses for his mother who was nearly blind. After nearly 60 years, Grandpa still held resentment that none of his older siblings had thought to do this kindness for her.... this story related by Dixie Lee Duncan Penn, daughter of Leota May Penry Duncan, daughter of Ray and Nora Penry
