2. Obituary sent from Bonnie Hunt, Wilbur J. Hunt, age 90, of North Branch died Monday, February 26, 2007. Wilbur was born January 30, 1917, the son of Howard and Blanche (Warren) Hunt and was a lifetime North Branch resident. Wilbur married Veda Viola Butterfield on April 8, 1943 in Deerfield Twp. He was a farmer his entire life and a longtime member of Country Christian Church. Wilbur was also a member of the Lapeer County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse and an active 4-H supporter for many years. Wilbur is survived by his daughters: Carol Ann McNeill of Shepherd and Ellen Bates of Lansing; sons: Daryl (Carol) Hunt of North Branch and Wayne (Elizabeth) Hunt of North Branch; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Edith Peterson of Edmore, Vernon (Vivian) Hunt of Lapeer and Normagene (Byron) Churchill of Montrose; sisters-in-law: Erma Cook of Edmore and June Ostrander of Lapeer. Wilbur was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Veda V. Hunt; granddaughter, Andrea Hunt; sons-in-law: David Bates and James McNeill; 3 brothers: Russell, Alton and Virgil Hunt and his parents: Howard and Blanche (Warren) Hunt. Visitation will be at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, February 28, and from 1-9 PM Thursday, March 1. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer with Rev. Ralph Pieper II officiating. Burial will be in Deerfield Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. .
