Deniza Avaena Vance (daughter of Lemuel Vance and Mahala ??) was born in Rutledge Twp, DeWitt Cty, Illinois, and died June 11, 1919 in her home, North Main St., Farmer City, Illinois. She married Jacob Franklin Gardner on Abt. 1901, son of Edward T. Gardner and Melvina Walters.

Death of Mrs. J. F. Gardner

Wednesday morning at 3:40 o'clock at her home on North Main street toook place the death of Mrs. J. Frank Gardner who had been ill for over a year with tuberculosis and bedfast a large part of that time. She was aged 56 years, 4 months and 2 days.
The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Prairie Chapel U. B. church, of which deceased was a member since girlhood. It will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. O. M. Gallion of Bloomington, with interment in the Johnson cemetery north of DeWitt.
Deniza Avelena, daughter of Lemuel and Mahala Vance, was born in Rutledge township and grew to womanhood there, she being the youngest child of her parents, who were early settlers of the Vance neighborhood. Soon after her marriage to Mr. Gardner about eighteen years ago they located in this city, where she ever afterward resided. Besides the husband deceased is survived by one brother, Joe Vance, and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Staten and Miss Jane Vance, all living in the old home neighborhood.
