Cynthia Bennett (Dukes) (daughter of Jesse Bennett and Margaret Bauch) was born October 05, 1851 in Somerset, Ky., and died September 21, 1935 in her home, East Water Street, Farmer City, Illionois. She married (1) S.F. Dukes. She married (2) William Parker Gardner on February 07, 1924 in Bloomington, Illinois, son of Joseph Gardner.

Rites Held For Mrs. Cynthia Gardner Monday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Dukes Gardner who died Saturday at her home o East Water street after an ilness of several months were held Monday at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian Chrch with the Rev. Fred R. Harrold in charge.
Mrs. Bert Hammer and Mrs. Morris Miles accompanied by Mrs. Bessie Etcheson sang. The floral offerings were carried by Morris Hurley, Evelyn Hurley, Francis Lawhead, Margaret Lawhead, Norma Van Brundt and Morris Van Brundt. Pallbearers were: N. M. Van Brundt, L. F. Lawhead, Landis Hurley, Howard Hurley, Chester Hunt and Roy Neal. Burial was made in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Cynthia Bennett was born October 5, 1851 the daughter of Jess and Margaret Bennett at Somersett, Ky. August 11, 1868 she was married to S. E. Dukes. He died October 23, 1918. She then resided alone until 1924 when she married William Gardner who died February 13, 1930.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Addie Hurley of Farmer City, Mrs. Mary Nichols of Champaign, and Mrs. Jessie Van Brundt of Tucson Arizona; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Gardner was a memeber of the Christian Church, the Woman's Relief Corps, Pythian Sisters and Rebekah Lodge and the Wimeslausis Club, all of which when able she was active and a willing helper.
