13. ORBIA⁴ PIERCE (WILLIAM CHESLEY³, JOHN H.², C. C.¹) was born November 24, 1897, and died in Big Springs, Texas, died in an oil field accident. He married (1) LOENA MINNIE PONDER, daughter of JAMES PONDER and MARY PRUITT. She was born January 30, 1898 in Oklahoma, and died 1919 in Graham, Carter Co., Oklahoma. He married (2) LUCY COLLINS.

Notes for ORBIA PIERCE:
The name "Orbia Pierce" is what is found on the tombstone. Some family members believe the name is "James Orbia Pierce". He went by the name "Orbia".
He was killed in an oil field accident. He was working on a drilling rig when drill stem pipe fell and crushed him. Ervin Pierce remembers him as a cut up and a lot of fun. That is how he got his nickname "Rowdy". He had to live up to that image but it was easy for Rowdy.
