Notes for Bruce Lovay Little:
My daddy was a good man.He was a very strong and loving man. He had his own views and beliefs, but that is what made him different from others. I am very much like my daddy in lots of ways. I see myself growing more like him everyday. When I was a little girl, he worked for Massey Grinding in Houston, Texas. He would come in after standing on his feet all day and would put me to sleep rubbing my feet. I knew his feet hurt and this was his way of relaxing. Finally, he quit working at Massey's and went to work for Reynold's Aluminum Company. He would work shift work, 11 - 7, 7 - 3, and 3 - 11. He worked there for years before retiring at the age of 48, I believe. We moved to Jewett in 1980 and I began my freshman year in high school. My daddy kept our yard and pasture looking like a park. It was so beautiful out there. If I had to list one fault of my father's it was his drinking. It was the cause of his demise. On August 2, 1999, he died of liver cancer that had spread to the bone. I was with him when he died. He died at the Hospice House in Houston, Texas. The House was a branch of MD Anderson Hospital. No one knows how bad I hurt for him. He was such a strong person.

Notes for Billie Jean Russell:
I remember when I found out I was pregnant with Brandon. We didn't know if he was going to be a boy or a girl. I always felt like he was going to be a boy from the beginning. Mother and I would go to Longview and buy all the cutest little clothes for either a boy or a girl. She had so much fun expecting her first grandchild. She came up to Henderson to help me during my pregnancy because I was sick so much. She locked her house up in Jewett and moved in with me and Ray. She did the housework, cooking, and clothes washing. I don't know what I would have done without her.
After Ray and I divorced and we moved back to Jewett, I decided to go to nursing school to become an RN. She kept Brandon for those three years so I could be dedicated to my studies. I continued to live at home with them, but I would have to drive back and forth several times a week to Kaufman, Tx. I don't know what I would do without her.

She loves company and loves to cook. She is her most happiest when there is something on the stove or something she can put into jars or the freezer. I never remember having to go hungry. She could stretch food for miles and it would taste just as good the second time or third time around.

I know she was happy when she and my father divorced. I can remember her being upset about him drinking, but he would not stop for anyone. The happiest I think I ever saw her was when we finished getting the house built next to memaw and grandaddy. It was Christmas, and we had moved furniture all day and put the Christmas tree up that night also. We were exhausted but extremely satisfied.

Mother could be a hard person. She carried a grudge and always let you know if you made her mad or if someone did something that made her angry. She voiced her opinion freely and was very opininated with her views.

She also has the strength of a mule. She comes from excellent genes. She is the light of my life, and I love her with all my heart.
