Andrew Hallman born abt 1707, Germany, married Mary Elizabeth ?, died abt 1769, Newberry County, South Carolina. Andrew died abt 1761, South Carolina. On September 1, 1736, the ship "Harle, Ralph Harle, Master", reached the wharfs of Philadelphia. Ship list had name Andreas Heylmann, wife, Maria Elizabeth, and one or more children. In 1736 Andreas Heilman (Andrew Hallman) and his family reached Philadelphia. For some timeAndrew worked in the flour trade in Philadelphia. He was positively known to be in South Carolina in 1750. It is probable that Andrew was in South Carolina as early as 1748 or 1749. When he applied for his land grant in Charles Town he had a wife and five children. When Andreas Heilman came to Philadelphia in 1736, he was accompanied by and Andreas Grimm and a John Conrad Grimm. When he reached South Carolina, he andPeter Grimm went to Charles Town together to seek land grants. Together they had made their homes in the upper Dutch Fork on a crek which is to this day known as Grimm's Creek, though misspelled as "Crim's".
