He married ALICE CLARK June 18, 1866 in Dover Township, Athens County, Ohio, daughter of ROBERT CLARK and DURANDA MC DANIEL. She was born June 15, 1850 in Athens County, Ohio, and died May 05, 1924 in Bloomingdale, Wisconsin.

Notes for WILLIAM MC KEE:
     

      William A. Mc Kee was born in Athens County, Ohio on April 13, 1840. He married Alice Clark, daughter of Robert Clark and Doranda Mc Daniel, in Athens County July 18, 1866.
      William served over three years in the Civil War, enrolled in Company C, 18th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, August 16, 1861, and was mustered out November 9, 1864 in Columbus, Ohio. He re-enlisted in Company H. serving from February 16, 1865 to October 9, 1965, and received a pension for his service. William's military discharge describes him as five feet 10-1/2 inches high, of dark complexion, black eyes, and black hair.
      By 1877, William and Alice had joined the Clarks in Vernon County. Alice had been concerned about his safety as a coal miner in Ohio and urged him to move their family to Wisconsin.
     
      William died October 12, 1913 in Viroqua, Wisconsin and is buried at Salem Ridge Cemetery. Alice, who received a widow's pension, died may 5, 1924 in Bloomingdale, Wisconsin and is buried by her husband in Salem Ridge Cemetery.
