Mrs. Alice I. Collins, 80, 4503 Smith Lane, Laona, died at a Rhinelander hospital Wednesday evening. She was born February 22, 1897 in Clinton, Wisconsin. The former Alice Young married Jesse A. Collins September 6, 1917. Mrs. Collins came to Laona in 1918.
she was a member of the Cook-Elfors VFW Post No. 6823 Auxiliary, Laona. Her husband preceded her in death June 26, 1969.
Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Alfred (Garnet) Smith, Laona, Mrs. Roy (O'Deal) DesJarlais, Green Bay; Mrs. Harvey (Colleen) Figens, Suring; Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Herrick, Rhinelander; four sons, Douglas and Darrell, both of Laona, Larry, Rhinelander and Jesse Collins Jr., Eagle River; one brother Raymond Young, LaFarge, Wisconsin; 30 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five Step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

RAYMOND A. YOUNG     

      LA FARGE, Wis. - Raymond A. Young, 82, La Farge, died Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua.
      He was born on Oct. 15, 1901, in the town of Clinton, Vernon County, to George and Cora (McKee) Young. On May 6, 1926, he married Mary E. Hassel in Rockford, Ill.
      The couple had lived in Rockford, West Allis, Genoa, Minneapolis and La Farge.
      Young had worked at the Glove Steel and Tube Co. in Milwaukee, on the construction of the Genoa Lock and dam, been a custodian at the La Farge Public Schools, at the Goodyear Tire Co., in Minneapolis and for the village of La Farge prior to his retirement.
      He was a charter member of the La Farge Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the La Farge Knights of Pythias, Lodge No. 159.
      Survivors are his wife: one son, Robert of Hayward; one daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Ann) Erlandson of La Farge; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
      Services will be Saturday at 1 P.M. in the La Farge United Methodist Church, the Rev. Lesly Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery.
      Friends may call at the Seland Funeral Home, La Farge, today from 4 to 9 P.M., with a prayer service at 8 P.M. Friends also may call at the church on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the services.
