She married ABEL PROCTOR December 23, 1831 in Jo Davis County, Illinois. He was born March 31, 1800 in Cavendish Township, Windsor County, Vermont, and died March 12, 1888 in Wright County, Iowa.

ARY MOFFATT:
      Mary Moffatt, born July 21, 1806, probably in Newburg, Me.; married Abel Proctor, December 23, 1831, born March 31, 1800, in Vermont; at first a printer, but subsequently a farmer. He lived on his farm at Scales Mound, Illinois for many years until sometime after the death of his wife. He then sold and purchased a tract of land for himself and children in Wright County, Iowa. He was a man of cultivated mind and high moral character. He died in Wright County, March 12, 1888, where he was residing with his daughter. His wife died May 14, 1865, at Scales Mound. Both were buried at Scales Mound.

Besides several district School, he has taught the High School at Monroe, Me.; the Classical Institute at Milton, N.H.; the Lindsey High School at Shapleigh, Me.; and West Lebanon Academy at West Lebanon, Me. He has also taught at La Moure, North Dakota, and is now teaching at Carmel, Me. He has been engaged in teaching almost constantly since he left college. He married Lizzie Horne, July 30, 1876, adopted daughter of James R. Horne, of Milton, N.H.. She was born in 1860, in Mass. He resides in Carmel.

LISHA PIPER:
      Elisha Piper, born April 8, 1809, in Newburg, me.; a farmer; married Harriet Burbank, daughter of Ensign Samuel and Ester (Boothby) Burbank, November 21, 1833, born January 15, 1811, in Parsonfield, Me. she was noted for her good scholarship when a school girl, and now for the good management of her household affairs. She takes a deep interest in passing events and the progress of society. He resided on the old homestead devised to him by his grandfather, Elisha Piper, with whom he had lived from early childhood, and whose confidence and esteem he had gained by his fidelity, industry, and integrity. He was one of the largest and best farmers in town. In the management of his farm he followed the footsteps of his grandfather, and conducted it with equal energy and success. He was acquainted with music, played the fife, and was chorister of the church choir for eighteen years. He was a Freewill Baptist in religious belief and by profession, and so are all his family. He died of pneumonia April 11, 1876, in Parsonsfield, where he resided.
