      Virden E. Piper, 69, of Apache Junction died Friday, May 15, 1992, at Valley Lutheran Hoppital in Mesa, Arizonia.
      Mr. Piper was born in Walnut, Illinois and moved to Arizonia in 1977. He was a telephone repairman. He werved in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Apache Junction.
      Survivors include his wife, Anna; sons Kendall of Flagstaff, Randall of Mesa, Calvin of Conroe, Texas, Terry Mesa, and Larry of Amboy, Illinois; sisters Ila Christoferson, Sylvia Perkins and Donna Tucker, all of Beloit, Wisconsin; brothers Ronald and Elton, both of Beloit; 26 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
      Bunker's Desert View Chapel, 9702 E. Apache Trail in Mesa, handled the arrangements.
