Alvin M. White (son of Frank White and Louise Elliott) was born March 30, 1907 in Mclure Illinois, and died July 24, 1995 in Union Co. Il. (Anna). He married Daisy Gertrude Pitts on November 25, 1927 in Monroe Michigan, daughter of John Pitts and Minnie Elkins.

Mr. Alva M. "Whitey" White, 88, of Anna, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday July 24, 1995, at his home near Anna. He was born on March 30, 1907, in McClure, the son of Frank and Louise Elliot White. He married Daisy G. Pitts on November 25, 1927 in Monroe Michigan. Mr. White is survived by his wife, Daisy of Anna; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Shirley White of Cape Girardeau, Bill and Kathy White of Bloomington, Don and Margaret White of Springfield, Carl and Shirley White of Makanda; two daughters and sons-in-law, Fran and Lyle Boes of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mary Ruth and Don Hawk of Anna; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Mr. White was a member of the Jonesboro Methodist Church and was a member of the teamsters. His family said the kind and gentle manners of this loving and caring husband will be missed. He was a man who loved the shade trees on his lawn and extended that love to those who came there to share a few precious moments with him. He used his quiet and friendly voice to praise and encourage and never to insult or ridicule. His kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered by all who knew him, especially by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Alva M. "Whitey" White will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. John Shelton and grandson Todd Hawk officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, today, and on Friday until the funeral hour. Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
