Currently researching Martin Powers b. May 1871, d. March 1929. His parents are possibly Patrick and Ann. He may also have had a sister named Ellen. Married to Margaret(Maggie)Barry b. March 1873 d.November 1957; Her parents James Barry and Sarah/Sally Allen of Ireland.

Both born in Ireland, Martin came to states abt. 1885(6) and Maggie about 1887. Martin possible naturalized abt. 1890 according to 1920 census. Martin was a brick layer. As well as a couple of his sons.

They and their children: Joseph b.1897, Sarah/Sally/Sadie [was never married]b1898,Martin b.1899,[m. Lilah Myrtle Embree in 1959] Wiliam b.1902, Thomas b.1905 , Anne/Anna b. 1907 [m.John Nanovic b. 1906], James b. 1909[m.Jennie(aka Genevieve)McLaughlin/Mcloughlin b. 1909]and John b. 1912....

Margaret(Maggie) Barry had a brother; Pat Barry b. Oct.1868 born in Ireland, immigrated to the States in 1887. m. Catherine b. July 1873?in New York, their children Maggie, James, Sadie. according to the 1900 census there was a 4th child born to this marriage, no longer living at the time the census was taken. And she may have also had another brother named James.

Above can be found on the 1920 New York census, Borough of Manhatten, enumeration district No.1274, sheet 12A, ward AD18.
And also listed on the 1900 New York census, Borough of Manhatten, enumeration district No.911, Sheet 15B and continued on Sheet 16A Ward 12.


Patrick Mcloughlin ( Mclaughlin )b. 1876, Delia/Adelia (could have been known also as Bridget) Foley b. 1877. Ireland.
Immigrating to New York City about 1896 from Ireland. They were married about 1904. Then they were off to New Jersey (Englewood) and moved back to New York (near or to 3rd Ave) sometime between 1911 and 1929.

Patrick(Pat)and Delia's (Adelia)children are: Jennie b. 1909 (Genevieve), Margaret b.1907 (m.James Twomey),Anna b. 1913(m. Ed Masterson), Mary b. 1905(was a nun, Sister Mary Mildred, worked at Holy Cross Hospital in DC)and Katherine(Kitty).

And additionally:
William Gray of Mary Hill, Scotland, married to Mary Harvey, their children including Annie (m.William Burke), Alex, Edith, Peter and Catherine

James Brawley b. 1885 Scotland. Came to the NYC June 6,1910 on the ship California. He was a plumber, (m. Catherine Gray in 1916 in NYC), His father Thomas Brawley (m. Susan /unknown maiden name) all from Mary Hill area of Scotland(a Glasgow suberb.)Some of which arrived to the states in the early 1900's, the New York area. Also other children of Thomas and Susan; Thomas Brawley,[(?had 2 sons, one named Adam)Thomas is beleived to have settled in California] John Brawley(Was a member of New Yorks famed Fighting 69th regiment during WWI)[m.Helen, beleived to have settled in the New York City area]. Cassie (married to someone possibly last name Forsythe) May (or Mae) (possibly never married) [[May and Cassie both settled in California near LA.]] Harry Brawley b.1891[(m. Helen)worked on Ships, travelled back and forth to Scotland as a crew member and later he worked on the docks in New York, where it is said he perished in an accident.]

And Davey(first name unknown)perished in WWII, Navy, early part of war.
