WILLIAM7, WILLIAM BALL6 III., JOHN5 BALL II, JOHN4, WILLIAM3, ROBERT2, WILLIAM1) was born 1837 in Lee Co. Va., and died 1914 in Lee Co. Va.. He married HANNAH J. MARION 1860 in Lee Co. Va., daughter of JOHN MARION and SARAH. She was born 1836 in Lee Co. Va., and died 1917 in Lee Co. Va..

ILLIAM N BALL:
William enlisted in the 21st Virginia Inf at Camp Lane, Lee Co. Va at the age of 25. He later served with the 64th Mounted Virginia Inf in Company A as a Pvt. He was taken P.O.W. at the Gap ( Cumberland Gap ) Sept 9 1863 sent to Camp Douglas III Sept 24 1863. He was held there till his release July 19 1865. A resident of Lee Co. Va. His hair was light, complextion fair, blue eyes. William was on the 1900 pension list he was 63 years old, his penson was $15.00 a month. He also had two brothers that served in the same Unit ( Thomas Ball Jr. born 1832 and Jonathn Kelly Ball born 1824. William was my Great Great Grand Father, Thomas and Jonathn Great Great Uncle`s. I went to Pennington Gap Va a little place called Woodway and found William and his wife my Great Great Grandmother`s Hannah ( Marion ) Ball grave. They are in Old Graham Family Cem. William`s grave was marked to his Confederate Army service Feb, 10th, 2002 about 30 of his family were on hand for the grave side service....................... A cowardly C.S.A. General surrendered The 64th Virginia on 9/9/1863 about 600 of the men refused to surrender and escaped back into Lee, where they took part in The Battle of Jonesville 1/2/1864 and killed or captured all 300 of the Union Troops. 440 men of the 64th were taken P.O.W 9/9/1863 My GG Grandfather William N. Ball was lucky to survive prison, 74 men of the 64th died there. William has a number of descendants in Elk Knob and Hickory Flats Lee County Va.

21. WESLEY13 BALL (THOMAS12, MOSES BALL11 JR., MOSES BALL10 SR., JOHN9 BALL, RICHARD8, COL. WILLIAM7, WILLIAM BALL6 III., JOHN5 BALL II, JOHN4, WILLIAM3, ROBERT2, WILLIAM1) was born 1827 in Lee Co. Va., and died 1891 in Fannin Co. Texas. He married MARY ANN JONES. She died in Fannin Co. Texas.

ESLEY BALL:
Wesley is listed in the Confederate Army 39TH Tennessee Inf. at Rogersville Junction Tn. On Mar 18, 1862 was given on a list of hospitalized prisoners, captured july 4, 1863 was released due to ill health july 15, 1863, returned home ( Lee County Va. ). He had been captured at Vicksburg. About 1871 Wesley and his family started to Texas in a covered wagon. The trip required so much time and expense that they stopped in Arkansas for a year, raised a crop for necessary food. They also found that they needed more expense money to continue on their way to Texas. They arrived in Fannin Co. Texas in 1872.
