About Our Family Research


This Family History is in Memory of My Parents Robert Colombus and Otie Jane Hughey Raines.
Family history is never finished so feel free to Correct me on any mistakes and to add any info you would like me to add.

Altho some are mistaken in thinking we are of Indain Descent . We are German and Black Dutch. none of our ancestors were ever on an Indain Roll.
Several years ago Advertisements were sent out Promising they would send you a Degree of Indain Blood Card if you would send the names of your ancestors members and several family members sent the money and received a phony D.I.B . card . when i received the ad i went to the Bureau of Indain Affairs and they proved to me that this was fraud and Scam.

The Following info was obtained after 35 yrs of research in My Raines Ancestor.

Just found documation on 1840 Walker Co Tax List that Father of James Raines was George Washington Raines born bt 1760-70 and died early 1840s in Walker Co. George and his wife[name unproven] lived with their Son Robert in 1830.she was born bt 1770-80 and died early 1840s in walker Co.
My Raines Route was from North Carolina Tenn--Ga-Ala- Mississippi-Ark-Mo.and Okla

Walker Co Ala Allied lines were; Abbott-Barton- Best-Cole-
Kennymore-Mullins- Haskins-Loggains-Williams -Ford-Robbins
Pate-Mooney-Mullins-Chism-Fewell

My Ark and Mo and Okla. lines were; Raines,Marler,Rowan, Green, Hughey, Richardson, Parton-Bly- De Jurnette-Manley-Brittain-Hopper-Brasiel-Hopper-Wyrick-Van Meter-Williams-Wilson- Perry
Haskins-Loggains-Van Horn- Van meter- Wyrick- Perry-Maines-Roy-Wilson-De Shields-Roy-Wilson-williams-Rowan-Manley-Hurd-Roy-Chism

My Itawamba, Munroe And Lee co Mississippi Lines were ;
