Welcome to the research home page of Rick Ritchie, direct descendant of Civil War veteran, Joseph Ritchey. Joseph Ritchey and Jacob Ritchey both settled in Newport Township, Washington County, Ohio in the mid 1840s. They were just a few years apart in age and both were listed as coopers by trade in the 1850 Census; this leads me to believe they were brothers. Jacob Ritchey's father is listed as Abraham and Jane Willoughby Ritchey in a local history book published around 1880. I am interested in finding out more about this Abraham Ritchey and to see if I can document if indeed Joseph was his son. Thanks for visiting my page
