Baltes Pickel (son of Frederick Pickel and Elizabeth Beem) was born 1771, and died 26 March 1791 in b. Oldwick Lutheran Churchyard, marker reads march1786.
Notes for Baltes Pickel: Baltes Pickel is the great grandson of Balthasar Pickel. His tomb stone is located in the church yard at the Oldwick Lutheran Church, on the side of the bldg. Written on the tombstone, "My feebel race has run a pace. My dwelling Place is here. This stone is to keep the spot that men dig not too near." The death date on the gravestone is March 1786. Written Church records indicate that he died on 26 March 1791. The cause of his death was an unfortunate blow from a horse. No explanation is given for the death date discrepancy. Both dates given are very clear and definite.
