Lewis Levine was a merchant in New Castle, PA. He died on a street car
traveling from Youngstown< OH to Sharon,PA. He died as the result of a
heart attack. Lewis was an inventor. He invented and patented the
first brake on the hub of the wheel. He also invented the jig saw by
converting a sewing machine with a blade to make it into a jig saw.
Another invention of his was the casement window.
