The Oude Kerk at the end of the Damrak

The Oude Kerk at the end of the Damrak
The Oude Kerk (Old Church), on the west side of Oudezijds Voorburgwal, is the oldest church in Amsterdam. A small church existed on this site as early as the 13th century. The Gothic church tower dates from 1306, but most of the rest of this building was added or rebuilt in the 16th century. The 210 foot wooden steeple was added in 1566 and the interior has been altered many times.
