George Mansel Scarlett (son of George Thomas Scarlett and Sadie Mineralla Shultz) was born 18 Aug 1909 in Norton, Kansas, and died 29 Jan 1957 in Norton, Kansas. He married Bertha Mae Ginther on 07 Apr 1927 in Topeka, KS., daughter of Winfield Scott Ginther and Mary Ida Bell Washburn.

In Alamosa, CO. 1930 census his occupation was Farm Labor.
Later in 1930 moved to Pasadena, CA where Delores was born and in 1931 moved to Norton, KS.

Death:
A sand and gravel contractor, he was in a truck at a sandpit near Calvert, KS., when stricken with a heart attack. M.C. Bortz, a state highway employee, noticed something was wrong when Mr. Scarlett failed to drive the truck away after it was loaded. An ambulance was called but Mr. Scarlett was dead upon arrival at the hospital. Funeral services was held at Rhoad-Somers Funeral Home.
Burial: Norton Cemetery, Norton, Kansas
