Ernst Heinrich Ludwig Peschell (son of Unknown Peschell and Unknown) was born 13 Mar 1853 in Posen, Prussia, and died 03 Jan 1921 in St. Catharine's, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada. He married (1) Fredericke Cathrine Drautz on Jul 1878 in Stuttgart, Germany, daughter of Leonhard Conrad Drauz and Johanne Catharine Friedrike Goetz. He married (2) Mary Jane Walsh on Bet. 1900 - 1910 in Quebec City, Canada, daughter of James Walsh and Mary Jane Wigmore.

Great grandfather. Last child of seventh marriage. Born in Posen, Prussia. Probably lived in Mainze, Germany near time of wedding to Fredericka. Lived in Basel, Switzerland for some time, probably departed from Italian port around 1892 and arrived in 1893. May have received an inheritance from aunt in Weisbaden which he may have given to Fredericka. They owned a farm (see deed) in Deep River, CT which is near Hartford, Ct, and is along the CT. River. They lost the farm to foreclosure in 1900 (deeds are in Deep River), The oldest son, Ernest left home and lived for a time with a schoolteacher in Clinton, CT. Ernest moved to Bridgeport, CT in 1899 where Ernst moved and got a job. Shortly afterwards Ernst moved to Canada and raised a second family. He had several more children and died while they were very young. Ernst had three children, Joseph, Louis and Cecilia. Louis had a son named Gary who is an only child and has no children. Gary is the head librarian at a college in Newfoundland. St. Catharines, Ontario is where the family settled after a couple of years in Quebec City in the Montcalm district. Ernst is probably buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Church records may have been destroyed by fire. Arthur Beamer and first wife,and Mable Moore and her first husband,and Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Mel (Gary's) are also there. St. Catharines is famous for being the end of the Underground Railroad. Ernst emigrated June 1889 to US and lived there eleven years (1889-1900) and was not naturalized. In Canada he was a toolmaker (electrical machinery) July 1919 to July 1920 tool maker for Rose Rifle Works. Died of transverse Myelitis with infected bladder and kidney.
