This report contains genealogical information on 8 generations of the descendants of Nathaniel Seaver, who was the fourth son of Robert and Elizabeth (Ballard) Seaver of Roxbury in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. 

 

Information was obtained from published sources, including the article by William B. Trask, "The Seaver Family," in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume 26, pages 303-323, April 1872, and the typescript by Jesse Seaver, “The Seaver Genealogy,” published by the author, Philadelphia PA in 1924.   The author has obtained data from correspondents and Internet databases.  Extensive research in vital records, probate records, land records, court records, church records, town records, census records, military records, etc. was performed.   The Massachusetts vital records through 1905 were reviewed, as were the available vital records for the New England states.  United States census records for 1790 to 1930 were extracted for many of these families in an effort to extend the lines into the 20th century.

      1.  Nathaniel2 Seaver  (Robert1) was born 08 January 1644/45 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA (VR, 315,  baptism), and died 21 April 1676 in at Sudbury, Middlesex County, MA (in Roxbury VR, 635).  He married Sarah Bef. 1671 in prob. Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA.

      2.  John3 Seaver (Nathaniel2, Robert1) was born 18 August 1671 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA (VR, 310), and died 12 December 1756 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 225).  He married Sarah Gardner Bef. 1696 in prob. Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA, daughter of Andrew Gardner and Sarah Mason.  She was born 21 May 1671 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA, and died 20 March 1746/47 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 225).

      5.  Nathaniel4 Seaver (John3, Nathaniel2, Robert1) was born 22 December 1697 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA (VR, 315), and died 02 October 1768 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 225).  He married (1) Hannah White About 1728 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 151), daughter of Benjamin White and Margaret Weld.  She was born 02 March 1705/06 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR), and died 20 February 1741/42 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 225).  He married (2) Elizabeth Craft 11 August 1743 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA (VR, 151), daughter of Ebenezer Craft and Elizabeth Weld.  She was born 28 March 1718 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA, and died 18 August 1744 in Brookline, Norfolk County, MA.  He married (3) Sarah Stevens 23 October 1746 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, MA (VR, 358).
