About Our Family Research


My father, Emanuel Pantar (later changed spelling to Ponter because of mispronunciation by others) was born in Prezid, Austria (Croatia) 26 March 1886. He came to America in 1910 and after working in several places he came to Morgan County, Alabama where he met my mother Carrie Etta Allison and they were married on 1 March 1919. They had four children: Tony Phene, James Emanuel, John Hubbard and Vista Allison. My mother died in 1977 with cancer and my father lived to the age of 91, dying in May of 1977. There are four grandsons and two granddaughters; two great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
