This was used by me as a Law Office before retiring to Florida in 1988. I started practicing law in Richmond in 1956 with my father, James J. Shannon, under the firm name of Shannon and Shannon. My father was a member of the Kentucky General Assembly from 1948-1950 as a State Representative for Madison County. I served as an Assistant Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. At one time this property was the home of my uncle, Owen W. "Pete" Hisle, Jr., who was U. S. Post Master at Richmond with his offices about a block away at the present day District Court Building built in 1896 with Jeffersonian Architecture. During the Civil War this was the home and office of Dr. Harris who treated wounded soldiers after the Battle of Richmond in August, 1862.
