EZZELL FAMILY - COAT OF ARMS

The first of the Ezzell's known in the family was Mason Ezzell who lived in Abbieville, South Carolina c 1790 and Livingston County, Kentucky c 1810. Wives believed to be Elizabeth Harrison and Mary Hinds. In South Carolina some first used the last name Issourd, Issard, Izard, Izzard and Ezzard. Tradition has it that Mason Ezzell, born c 1750, came over from France with General Lafayette during the Revolutionary War and had four sons.
