GEORGE5 LEFEVRE, ENSIGN (PHILIP G.4, CATHERINE3 FERREE, DANIEL2, JEAN1 LA VERREE) was born February 18, 1738/39 in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania48, and died August 20, 1820 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania48. He married (1) UNKNOWN QUIGLEY. He married (2) ANNA BARBARA SLAYMAKER March 1761 in Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania48, daughter of LAWRENCE SLAYMAKER and EVE ECKMAN. She was born July 31, 1745 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania48, and died January 01, 1790 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania48.

On June 1, 1762, bought 100 acres west of the Susquehanna River. On Jan. 14, 1767 he bought 10 acres 145 perches. On May 8, 1769, Christian Schlemmer of Windsor Township, York County, Pa. deed to George, (of Windsor Township, York Co. Pa.), a tract of land called "Locust Hills" containing 68 acres 71 perches, also another tract of 91 acres 23 perches for pounds 325, equal to about $1,600.

When the Revolutionary War ocurred, when he was 36 years old, George in 1775 joined as Ensign (corresponding to First Lietenant now) the 3rd Battalion, under Col. David Jamison. After the War he returned to his home in York County, Pa. On May 1, 1780, he sold the last three tracts he had bought in 1767 and 1769 containing 170 acres 79 perches, to Jacob Dritt for pounds 6,000, almost $30,000. Also on the same date to the same person he sold the 100 acres he bought in 1767 for pounds 7,035.

In 1785 he moved his family to Cumberland County, Pa. and bought a farm near Newville, and built a large stone house, that is still standing and good for another 150 years.
