JOEL GIBBONEY, THE SON OF JOHN AND ELIZABETH, WAS BORN IN BLAIR COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AND MOVED TO BEDFORD COUNTY WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG MAN. HE MET AND MARRIED SUSANNAH KEAGY IN 1823. HE WAS A FARMER ALL OF HIS LIFE IN WHAT IS KNOWN AS FRIEND'S AND MORRISON'S COVE IN BEDFORD COUNTY. IN 1846, HE DIED AT 51 YEARS OLD. THEY HAD SEVEN CHILDREN. THE FAMILY LIVED IN BEDFORD COUNTY WHERE FOUR OF THESE CHILDREN DIED.
