Alice Sankey was my grandmother. Thomas Riddell Sankey, Age 64. Passed away April 2, 1968 in St. Luke's Hospital. Mr. Sankey was born September 13, 1905 (error in date because is 1903 on tombstone), in Beloit, Wis., had resided in Milwaukee, Wis., before coming to Racine in 1927. Mr. Sankey graduated from Marquette University in 1927. he had been Sports Editor at the Old Times Call and Copy Editor of the Minneapolis Journal and Chief of Copy Desk and Telegraph Editor and later Librarian at the Racine-Journal Times. He was an active member of Christ Church Methodist and a former presedent of methodist Men, a member of Sigma Delta Chi (honorary Journalism Fraternity) and Journal-Times 20 year club, Surviving are his wife Alice (Nee:Dahlberg) one daughter, (omitted because still living) of Racine, three granddaughters, Gwynn (Wendy) Malcolm, two others are still living so I will not mention their names here.
