Stainbacks of Virginia and North Carolina

Updated April 5, 2004

About Our Family Research

It's best guess that the Stainback family today started with William Standback in Charles City County, 1690. In the public records of Prince George County, Virginia, we know there was a William Standback/Stainback married to an Onah. Now believed to be Onah Tidmarsh due to Richard Tidmarsh's "Will" which list William as a "Cousin".
From William the family branches off to several counties in which in turn ended in North Carolina. The enclosed work is with the help of "Charlie" and Jim Hamlin. There has been several others involved at my appreciation goes out to them also. As usual, the enclosed is still work in progress. We all know nothing is one hundres per cent correct. Any correction noted, I would appreciate being notified. Like to take this time and thank all of you in advance.
