Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Davidson County, North Carolina, is an "architechtural" marvel, noted for its carved headstones featuring styles adapted from furniture carpentry (the fylfot cross in particular). It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places under architecture/engineering (see http://www.nationalregisterofhistoricplaces.com/NC/Davidson/state.html). Many Smith, Teague and Welborn family members are buried here from the late 1700's and early 1800's. These families intermarried locally before a group of them moved on to Barren and Monroe Counties in Kentucky. The Welborn name married into the Gilleland clan in Kentucky, and the family of Samuel and Mary (Welborn) Gilleland moved to Missouri, eventually joining with the Starling lineage there.
