9. CAPT. JAMES⁹ OUTLAW (EDWARD⁸, EDWARD⁷, EDWARD⁶, ROBERT⁵, RALPH⁴, THOMAS³, RALPH², THOMAS¹) was born 1744 in Bertie CO., NC, and died April 22, 1826 in Duplin Co., NC. He married ELIZABETH GRADY April 25, 1799 in Duplin Co , NC, daughter of JOHN GRADY and MARY WHITFIELD. She was born Abt. 1749, and died 1839.

He was a Captain in the Revoluntionary War.

Notes for ALEXANDER GRADY, JR.:
Several members of this family died of Small Pox in 1853. Dr. James Monroe Grady, one of Alexander's children was thought to have brought the disease home and given it to several members of the family.
