He married (2) MARY ELIZABETH WHITFIELD. She was born 1724, and died 1791. He married (3) MARY ELIZABETH WHITFIELD Abt. 1733 in Windsor, Bertie CO. NC, daughter of WILLIAM WHITFIELD and ELIZABETH GOODMAN. She was born 1714 in Duplin Co NC, and died December 20, 1791 in Albertson Township, Duplin Co, NC.

Notes for JOHN GRADY:
All of the sons of John Grady, William, John, Alexander and Frederick served in the Revolutionary War. William's son John was the only soldier killed by the British at the Battle of Moore's Creek Feb.22,1775. There is a monument at the battle site which confirms this.

Served in the North Carolina Militia during the Revolutionary War. He lived in what is currently Albertson Township of Duplin Co. The family home was in Serecta in a community called "Chocolate".

Notes for ALEXANDER GRADY, JR.:
Several members of this family died of Small Pox in 1853. Dr. James Monroe Grady, one of Alexander's children was thought to have brought the disease home and given it to several members of the family.
