1. WOODMAN¹ STOCKLEY was born 1810 in (Murderkill Hundred ), Kent CO , Delaware. He married SARAH (SALLY) A. UNKNOWN Abt. 1832 in Kent Co. Delaware. She was born 1816 in Kent CO. DE.

Information about Samuel Stockley's parents came from Cathy ( Littlemite99@aol.com). This information came from the 1850 Kent Co Delaware Census which shows Samuel living with father Woodman and the list of other children in the family. This family shows up on the 1870 Caroline CO , Maryland Census. All of them are listed as having been born in Delaware.

Delaware Genealogical Society Queries provided the following Stockley Information:
John Stockley emigrated to the Virginia Colony 1635/36 and returned to England circa 1645-50 and recruited 52 persons to return to Va in 1663. Filed as Head rights patented 2600 acres in Accomac Co. He may have been transported by his brother, Woodman who also went to America. Born Abt 1621 in Stock/Stoke - on - Trent, Staffordshire, England. Probably sailed from Gravesend, Kent in the ship under Captain Lucas. Married in England, 1662-3, wife Elizabeth last name unknown but her parents were living at the time. His grandfather or uncle of the same name , may have been a member of the Virginia Co 1609, 1617 or 1620. John was the progenitor for the Delaware Stockleys. Submitted by Hank Stockley P.O. John Stockley Will written Fen 3 1670/71 names daughters Elizabeth and Ann ( (Wills and Administration of Accomac Co VA) and in his son codicil he manes his son Woodman( Accomac Co VA Orders 1671-73, pg 231)
Elizabeth Stratton ( widow of John Stratton and John Stockley) in her Will dated 17 June 1697, names her daughter Ann( Atkins) along with Joseph. Matilda and John Atkins and in the same will names Henry, JR., Stockley; Thomas, Job, Condall ( Kendall) Toles ( Towles) Accomack CO VA Wills.
Woodman Stockley was mentioned in Lands Records of Sussex Co Del. - May 7, 1706 sale of 300 ares of land on the south side of Loves Creek and Branch in Angola Neck, to Woodman Stockley and William Atkins jointly and severally. ( Woodman and William were brothers- in - law) property "Loves Creek" of Woodman Stockleys is also mentioned in WIll of William Atkins.
Woodman Stockley in his Will dated May 22, 1710, gives to his eldest son Woodman, "Bradford Hall". my plantation in Sussex Co ( Worcester Co MD. Book of Wills MH3 1666-1742, f. 112
