6. Public Achrives RG 19, C35,V.Somtimes designated as Samuel of Wolford. He is listed as an American, serving in CPT Samuel Anders Company. King's Royal Regiment of New York, in December 1783. was settled in Augusta and then Wolford, near the Rideau river. (AI12) This was the area settled by Jessup's Loyal Rangers, where his in-laws were being settled. His father-in-law's petition lists him as of being of Osswegatchie, per V.

8. Upper Canada Political Figure, Samuel Street (1753-Feb 3 1815)was a judge and political figure in Upper Canada, He was born in Wilton, Connecticut in 1753. He traded with the native people along the Susquehanna River around 1776; in 1778, he moved to Fort Niagara where to provided supplies to the British. After the war, he resumed to trade with the native people and the Indian Department; his contact in the department was John Butler. Street was involved in land speculation, but did not gain much profit from that avtivity. In 1778 be became a justice of the peasce in the Nassau District. He was elected to the legislative Assembly of Upper Canada in the 2nd riding of Lincoln in 1796; in 1800, he was chosen as speaker. In 1897 he became judge in the Niagara District. After earlier unsuccessful appempts at relection, in 1808 he was elected in the 3rd Lincoln. He was a Captain in thew 3rd Lincoln militia and served as paymaster in the was of 1812. He later claimed compensation for property lost during the war.

22. Samuel Street born in 1635 and died in Wallingford, Ct Colony, on 17 Jan 1717. He graduated from Harvard College in 1664 and was one of the first settlers of Wallingford. He was installed as first Pastor there in 1674 and remained until his death. He married Anna Miles on 3 Nov 1664. She was born 7 Oct 1742, and died 19 Jul 1730; daughter of Richard and Katherine Miles. They had seven children

27. G Knapp. Re: Vanamps in Eastern Ontario. Originally Peter Van Camp came to Canada as a UEL. He was part of the Milita unit Jessup's Loyal Rangers, that came Albany N.Y. area. His children, moved on with the remainder of the rangers to land grants on the North Shore of the St Lawrence river including Augusta township, Ont (1784). two of his children Pheobe and Hetty, from whom I decend. (my grandparents were 5th generation cousins via this line). I have not researched thew family much further but would be interested in any details.
