Wilhelm also came to America prior to his family. We do not know exactly when that was. If the story about avoiding the Purssian Army draft is correct, Wilhelm, as the second oldest boy, would have followed his brother Valentine. There seems to be a close tie between Wilhelm and Valentine in that Wilhelm's son Valentine was a foster son of Valentine and Louisa and Ed Biever, a grandson of Wilhelm spent many summers at Valentine and Louisa's farm in Iowa.
