I have an old newspaper clip that says he was born in Denton, County, Texas.
Denton County Courthouse does not have a birth record for him.
I have an old newspaper clip that says they were married in a horse-drawn buggy on a country road outside of Gunter, Grayson County, Texas.
They moved to Gunter in 1917.
In 1923, he opened his hardware business, downtown Gunter, Grayson County, Texas.
