Notes for Alexander Newton Streetman: His birth name was Alexander Newton. This changed to Alec, then to Elic between 1900 & 1910. From then on he was known as Elic Newton & called Tump. I have an old newspaper clip that says he was born in Denton, County, Texas. Denton County Courthouse does not have a birth record for him. I have an old newspaper clip that says they were married in a horse-drawn buggy on a country road outside of Gunter, Grayson County, Texas. They moved to Gunter in 1917. In 1923, he opened his hardware business, downtown Gunter, Grayson County, Texas. I have a copy of their marriage license. Grayson County Death Certificate # 39314. I have a copy of his obituary. I have a few photographs of him.
