Today it houses a gift boutique called the "Cinnamon Tree" in Vicksburg's historical district. - Swete - Sweet - Swett COAT OF ARMS (305 KB)
In 1473, Edward IV granted this coat of arms and crest to Guy Swete of Trayne for his support in the War of the Roses. The families of Swete, Sweet, Swett (and several other variant spellings) lay claim to this coat of arms. The coat of arms is on a red shield with two chevrons between two stars at the top and a rose at the base. The crest is a star between two flowers. Ben Swett’s web site (http://swett-genealogy.com) is the source of the drawing of the Swett Coat of Arms (upper left), the photos of the Swete Coat of Arms on the tombstone, and the Swett Coat of Arms on the silver flagon (pitcher).
