I don't know how to start on these questions. Yes John Renta, and the Terrells,
especially Obediah were long hunters. Obediah is listed as the greatest of the
Long Hunters and camped on the site of present day Nashville. The Obed river is
named for him.
Now to the controversial info. In one of the old records, and I can't remember
if it was the Battle of Kings mountain or Draper papers or what. Benjamin
Bolling says that his sister married Old Andrew Baker. None of the children of
John Bolling and Elizabeth Blair fit the age group and all are accounted for. If
we accept that John Renta was born in 1744 his sister cannot be from that
marriage. She would have been about 11 when she had her first child. However
little is known about John Bolling and Elizabeth Lewis. I have an old genealogy
that has no author on it that says John and Eliz Lewis had 5 girls names
unknown. Mary would fit in this family just fine. I got a letter recently that
said Eliz Lewis had at least one girl and died in childbirth. Did that child
live?
I know I am out on a limb but I have put Mary/Mollie in that marriage. She would
have been considered a sister to Benjamin and would be the right age for an early
marriage.

Some of the Bollings say that Benjamin is from a totally different line, but when
you go through the old Kentucky records all the Bollings say that Benjamin is
from the marriage of John and Eliz Blair. There is just too much evidence for me
to dispute it.

Now I want your comments. I just could not fit Mollie in the Stith line or the
Robert line because of the statement of Benjamin. (Perhaps it was in the Asbury
Papers that he said that) Have fun Jean
