ENUS ELEMUL DUFFIE:
GLOVERVILLE, S. C. - Warrenville Couple die in Wreck - Gensus Elemul Duffie, 58 and his wife, Lessie Lee Duffie of Route 1, Warrenville, died early Friday when their automobile left a secondary road near here and struck a tree.

Their daughter, Miss Sarah Ann Duffie, 13 was seriously injured and taken to the University Hospital

State Highway Patrolman Charles Oxner said Duffie was apparently the driver of the car.

He said he appeared to have lost control of his car, left the road and struck a tree head-on demolishing the car.

The accident happened on a road connecting the Pine Log Road with S. C. Highway 421 in Gloverville.

Mrs. Duffie was an Aiken County native, daughter of Mrs. Ella Preston Mills and the late Mr. Buford Mills. Mr. Duffie was a native of Saluda County, the son of Mrs. Ida Salter Duffie of Saluda County and the late Mr. Thomas Duffie. They had made their home in this section for the past 5 years.

Mr. Duffie was employed in the Gregg Dye Plant at Graniteville.

They are survived by four daughters: Miss Sarah Ann Duffie and Miss Catherine Duffie, both of Route 1 Warrenville, Mrs. Rosa Mae Brodie of Monetta and Mrs.Winona Franklin of Route 2, Batesburg; four sons: Ollie Odell Duffie, Homer Duffie and Lamar Duffie, all of Route 1, Warrenville and Albert Duffie of Route 3, Aiken; Mrs. Duffie's twin brother: Lester Mills of Aiken; her three sisters: Mrs. Everett Autman, of Vaucluse, Mrs. Pansy Scott and Mrs. Craig Buff, both of Aiken. Mr. Duffie's three sisters: Mrs. Harvey Blayden, Mrs. Curtis Parrett, and Mrs. Noah Kirkland, all of Saluda; two brothers George Duffie of Saluda, and Otto Duffie of Batesburg, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 P.M. from Posey's Chapel with A. F. Carter and the Rev. L. G. Cribb officiating. Burial will be in Cleve Matthews Cemetery, Saluda County.

BATESBBURG, S. C. - Mrs. Mattie Usula Matthews Temples, 80 of Route 2, Sardis Community died Tuesday, November 20, 1990 at Saluda Nursing Center, Saluda.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Billy Matthews Cemetery.

Mrs. Temples, a native of Saluda County, had retired from the Saluda Shirt Plant and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Henry Lloyd Temples; two daughters: Marlene Rikard and Martha Risinger, both of Leesville and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today at Ramey Funeral Home in Saluda.
