Obituary Sharon Herald-- April 8, 1949?
William J. Thomas Sr. of 52 Shenango Blvd., a resident of Farrell for the past 31 years, died at 2 p. m. yesterday at his home following an extended illness. He was 71.
He was born March 15, 1878 in Neath, Wales, the son of John and Margaret Williams Thomas. When he came to this country he settled first in Clarksburg, W. Va.
He was retired by Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp. after being employed on the pouring platform of the open hearth department.
Mr. Thomas was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Farell and the Woodmen of the World of Clarksburg.
On Nov. 25, 1902, he married the former Margaret Loosemore, who survives with three daughters and six sons: Evelyn, Margaret, Elsie Mae and George, all at home, William Jr., and Roy of Farrell, Harry L., Munhall, Pa., Arthur, Warren, Pa. and Robert, Sharon, and seven grandchildren.

Virginia: In the Circuit Court of the County of Pulaski Octo 23. 1897.
John Thomas, an alien, a native of Wales, this day applied to the court to be admitted a citizen of the United States of America; whereupon the said John Thomas having proved to the satisfaction of the court that more than two years ago he declared on oath, in open court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, stat or sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to Queen Victoria and it being proven to the satisfaction of the court that the said John Thomas has resided in the United States for the continued term of five years last past at least, and within the State of Virginia for one year last past least, and during that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, he, the said John Thomas declared on oath in open court that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to Queen Victoria of whom hes is subject; and thereupon the said John Thomas is admitted a citizen of the United States
